Spend Saturday relaxing by the river or walking to nearby Waterwheel Fall, enjoy a second night under the stars, and then hike back out to Tuolumne Meadows on Sunday. Heading out from the trailhead near the stables, you will start the trek to Glen Aulin, which is mostly downhill on the way there. The trail is pretty though, with lots of meadows and views to look at on the way. The trail starts by going into a meadow, and be sure to look back here as the view back to Lembert Dome is fantastic. There are multiple cascades and also a few bigger waterfalls along the way. I think it really is possible to get waterfall fatigue along this trail.. which is a good thing! The trail is pretty much downhill from Glen Aulin High Sierra Camp, and the trail is well maintained.
